International Treaties, Protocols, and Agreements signed between the MERCOSUR Member States and/or between MERCOSUR Member States and Associated States.
The Council of the Common Market has the authority to negotiate and sign agreements, on behalf of MERCOSUR, with third countries, groups of countries, and international organizations. These functions may be expressly delegated to the Common Market Group, in accordance with the procedures established in the applicable regulations.
The Treaty of Asunción, its Protocols and the additional or supplementary instruments, as well as the agreements concluded within the framework of the Treaty of Asunción and its Protocols, are legal sources of MERCOSUR and are deposited with the Government of the Republic of Paraguay, except for those deposited with the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI).
