Free Trade Agreement Between MERCOSUR and the Republic of Singapore
The Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) and the Republic of Singapore signed a Free Trade Agreement, which was approved by the Common Market Council (CMC) through Declaration 17/23 at the most recent Summit held on December 7 in Rio de Janeiro.

MERCOSUR and Singapore Meet in Asunción for Trade Agreement Talks
Meetings began this week in Asunción as part of the Fifth Round of Negotiations between MERCOSUR and Singapore, with the aim of concluding a Free Trade Agreement between the two parties during the current semester. The first part of this 5th Round took place in Singapore from May 9 to 13 this year.

The countries agreed on a work plan to explore options for increasing exports of vegetable oils to India. MERCOSUR is currently one of the world’s major exporters of this type of oil.
